Galvin Yap

Welcome to my story.

I'm a software engineering undergraduate at the Singapore Institute of Technology, but my roots are in electronics. I started out with a Nitec in electronics and networking at ITE, then a diploma in electrical and electronic engineering at Singapore Polytechnic. Both pushed my urge to tinker even further. If you hand me something that already works, my immediate instinct is to take it apart to figure out why it works, and how to make it better.

That same attention to detail spills over into my art and photography. Photography lets me capture a different kind of detail, while drawing reinforces the idea that a greater whole is built from tiny, deliberate parts: simple lines on a page.
